Myth, Allegory and Gospel: An Interpretation of JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, GK Chesterton, Charles Williams
Published in Paperback by Canadian Institute for Law, Theology & Public Policy, Inc. (2000)
Authors: Edmund Fuller and John W. , et al. Montgomery
Average review score:

Short on the insight that I sought
I purchased this book because as a fan of both Lewis and Tolkien, I had hoped to gain better insight into the meaning behind their writings. I would say that my search for insight has only been slightly satisfied.

Myth Allegory and Gospel is a collection of six essays written by authors who describe themselves as "fans and scholars" of the works by Chesterton, Lewis, Tolkien and Williams. The essays are:

-Apologist of Eucatastrophe by John Warwick Montgomery
-Chesterton, Madmen and Madhouses by Russell Kirk
-Charles Williams' Novels and the Contemporary Mutation of Consciousness by Chad Walsh
-After the Moon Landings: A Further Report on the Christian Spaceman C.S. Lewis by Edmund Fuller
-The Chronicles of Narnia and the Adolescent Reader by John Warwick Montgomery
-Mythic and Christian Elements in Tolkien by Clyde S Kilby

Most of the essays speak of the Christian meaning of the books as if the reader already knows what the particulars are, so examples of the Christian meaning are rarely given. Furthermore, the writing style of some of the essays are similar to a research paper that I wrote in the eighth grade. Numerous sources are called upon in a disjoined manner in an essay that is difficult to follow. The exception is the essay by Kilby in regard to Tolkien's works and the essay by Mongomery in regard to Lewis. However, only the Kilby essay actually cites the Lord of the Rings to give examples of the Biblical connections that the other essays just assume that the reader already knows.

If you are looking for a collection of essays about the works of these authors, then this may be the book for you. But, if you are looking for more insight into these books, I would suggest that perhaps another book would be a better choice for you.

Dangerous Games
Published in Audio CD by Isis Audio Books (July, 2002)
Authors: Lesley Grant-Adamson and Edmund Dehn
Average review score:

A truly horrible book.
Poor character development, limited storyline, countless abandoned opportunities to enrichen the plot or offer a "why" or two, and no ending. NONE. The book simply ends. What a major disappointment! Had I thrown out the book halfway through, I'd have been no worse off.

Very Slow , Hard to understand
I think overall the plot in this book is very disaapointing. The description of places that are in the book is very good and really puts a picture in your imagination. The book is not really that good because as the previous reviewer said there is no ending at all and there is hardly a denemous at the end and you have to really be attentive in the story to get the point in the end which i wasnt. The book also is not so thrilling and does not keep you hooked it makes you want to find out maybe if it gets better but it doesnt. Im sorry Lesley-Grant Adamson but this book is a dissapointment.

Off-Season Training for Cyclists (The Ultimate Training Series from Velopress)
Published in Paperback by Velo Press (January, 1998)
Authors: Ed Burke, Edmund R, Ph.D. Burke, and Harvey Newton
Average review score:

Needless Purchase
The book is supposed to give insights into off-season for cyclists, and according to its description one is led to believe that it caters to seasoned cyclists as well as recreational athletes. I felt that the whole book is a synopsis of articles appearing in cycling fitness magazines, and that it is not a useful book at all. To be more precise, I expected some sample programs of what one could do in various winter situations. (Off-season in Germany is very much different to off-season in Arizona) What kind of different sports? at what intensities and with what combination? What do high caliber athletes do? Track riders? Criterium specialists? Time trialists? How about individually (according to bicycling discipline that is) categorized schedules? How about the major question of how to combine weight training (especially squats)and aerobic sports without injuring your knees as I did this past winter! I didn't find any of these questions addressed anywhere in this book. Instead, one finds general information on weight exercises, some information on indoor training, stretching, and so on. Personally, after having read "smart cycling..." by Arnie Baker, I feel that all the information that the "Off-Season" book contains is included in Baker's book along with a whole bunch of other useful training advice. In fact, if one subscribes to any bicycling magazine would know of all the topics the book addressed. Therefore, why buy an individual book on off-season training? I expected more from Ed Burke whose articles I read often. I was dissapointed and I would not recommend this purchase.

A lot of advices bundled together
The only good advice this book gives you is how you should combine weightlifting and cycling throughout the year. It does so by illustrating different exercises, but no schedules or programs are provided. Interesting, but the rest of the off-season advices are more how you do it than why you should do it. How will a certain exercise make me a better cyclist? That is what I want to know. It seems like a lot of good advices have been bundled together and thus lacking an overall plan. Sorry, but I expected more from Ed Burke.

80386 Technical Reference
Published in Paperback by Brady Games (March, 1988)
Author: Edmund Strauss
Average review score:

Don't buy this book
I made the mistake of buying this book when it came out. Although it called itself "80386 Technical Reference", it was basically unusable as such. The main things a reader should expect from a technical reference book is accuracy and completeness, and this book was severely lacking in both.

The few times I have attempted to look up some information in this book, it has been either incomplete or downright incorrect. As an example, the IMUL instruction of the 80386 comes in several variants, some of which produce a 64-bit result by setting the DX register in addition to the AX register. The book's description of the IMUL instruction completely fails to document this basic fact.

Anger Management (Additional Learner's Workbook)
Published in Paperback by Arise Foundation (15 January, 1999)
Authors: Edmund and Susan Benson
Average review score:

Don't be fooled--this book is not for you unless...
... you are a middle school teacher looking for curriculum. If so, then it might very well be what you are looking for. It's 24 pages are thin with content and short on insight. This is not a book for someone eager to learn about anger management for themselves, which I supposed should have been obvious but somehow wasn't to me.

Astrology, How & Why It Works: An Introduction to Basic Astrology
Published in Paperback by Aurora Press (September, 1993)
Author: Marc Edmund Jones
Average review score:

Astrology doesn't work
Astrology does not work, so a book purporting to explain how it does must be all wrong. Look instead at some of the excellent books that debunk this nonsense, like Science confronts the paranormal, ed. K. Frazier; The Gemini syndrome: a scientific evaluation of astrology, by Culver and Ianna; Pseudoscience and the paranormal, ed. T. Hines; and Paranormal borderlands of science, ed. K. Frazier, all published by Prometheus Books.

Edmund's Used Cars & Trucks 2001: Prices & Ratings Summer (Edmund's Used Car & Truck Prices and Ratings)
Published in Paperback by Edmund Pubns (April, 1901)
Author: Edmund's
Average review score:

Disappointing lack of information
I was very disappointed with this book. It was severely lacking in information and seemed inaccurate as far as values. For example, I checked for the current market value of my turbodiesel Dodge Ram, but it wasn't even in there! It only had the base Rams, and the closest to my truck I could find was valued at half of what Blue Book values my truck as. The additional options is often not listed, and that is what gives the accurate values of a vehicle. Very limited, innaccurate information. You do better just going to kbb.com.

Graffiti
Published in Paperback by Arise Foundation (01 February, 1999)
Authors: Susan Benson and Edmund Benson
Average review score:

No Deep Research Committed by Author Shows Through
It is very obvious that the author/s does not understand the subculture that is graffiti. The author often belittles those that perform it, but if they were to actually interview or talk to some of these people, they would understand there is a high form of intelligence among these kids. They know what they are doing, Susan and Edmond do not. It is easy to critique something you do not understand, just as younk kids make fun of homosexuals, Susan and Edmund denounce an established form of art.

Hillary and Tenzing Climb Mount Everest (Great 20th Century Expeditions)
Published in Library Binding by Dillon Pr (May, 1993)
Author: Bob Davidson
Average review score:

very disappointed
Could not believe I had just paid over 20 dollars for what amounted to a "childrens book" with only 25 pages of text. Your book descriptions should contain more info (age group, page count, intended audience, etc). I am very, very disappointed with you and have expressed my satisfaction with my co-workers.

SOVIET AND POST SOVIET SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE IS FALSE
Any work on Caucasus is based on Soviet authors .They got scientific rewards for DISTORTION OF CAUCASIAN HISTORY.Local authors KNOW the truth, but write lies.Poor non caucasian authors are led astray by their lies and decieve the readers.THE UNO, the OSCE are decieved and will be ashamed of their resolutions on Abkhazians because they are the Georgians, but are treated as nongeorgians. The aim of the liers was to weaken the Georgians being the only indigenous nation in south Caucasus. The Armenians are imposed immigrants from non caucasian territories of Iran and Turkey, and the Azerbaijan ethnos was invented in 1936 and consist of Tartar, Turkish, Jevanhsir, Lezgin,Kurdish and other mostly nomadic tribes of vast Eurasian territories.A non caucasian cannot write a proper book about Caucasus.A truthful bookes were published in Tbilisi in Georgian:PROF.
